Murder is Bad, so Boycott Instead

That is the vibe. Not just today, but it has been for a while now. But today, I am going to vent about it.

Millions of people around of the world are fed up with the USA’s B.S. If you have ever been in the lower economic spectrum, you know how lack of funds can make you feel so freaking powerless. Add in being a mom and it just gets worse. However, that isn’t always the case. You can still find ways to set fire under the asses of corporations that are causing the USA to be a highly dangerous place for you and your kids.

While certain CEOs are fearing for their lives (#freeluigi) because they have been killing thousands of people for years and now people want that to stop, I’m finding that contributing to their profit loss is an incredibly cathartic alternative. I’m not the only one doing this by a long shot (This Poelog post is awesome!).

How to Choose What to Boycott

So, in the spirit of starting with people who are the low end of the economic spectrum in the USA, I wanted to find some easy resources for people to reference when Boycotting. (BTW people in the USA are not the only ones doing this. See this article from the UK and this article from Australia).

Start with a simple App (like Goods Unite Us, Boycat, and No Thanks) and 5 things you buy the most. Example: Laundry detergent, pasta sauce, ramen, soda, and bread. Scan the barcode on the brand you usually buy, if it passes, great! If it doesn’t, keep scanning until you find one in your price range that does and buy that.

It is a little time consuming at first, but you only need to do it once.

Bullying is Fun Too!

Yes, I know we teach our kids otherwise and we should. HOWEVER, that no longer includes the rich and influential. I highly recommend following Birdie @showmeyourmask. “Be a problem that money can’t solve” and “Bully the Rich” are movements we can definitely get behind as single moms!

Oh! That includes your government representatives too. I mean if they aren’t going to make a living wage standard, stop the tariffs that are bankrupting people, keep allowing corporations to slash jobs, and are taking away government support to low-income families…they must have a lot of free time, right? I mean, all the unemployed people in the USA suddenly have more free time. So why not contact them…constantly…until things change? Check out the Activist Handbook for more info.

Know You Are Doing a Great Job!

True, you aren’t bankrupting Bezos overnight (pity, I know), but you are making his and hundreds of thousands of other investors very nervous and it is 1,000% okay to take joy in that. And former Tesla owners? Y’all rock! #byebyetesla

Together, we can make huge strides to bankrupting these people and making a much better lives for ourselves and people all over the world. Check here if you want proof.

Low income doesn’t mean you are worthless. It means you are part of an insanely large group of people who have led the most successful boycotts in the history of the USA!

Do what you can, with what you have. Change products that don’t align with your values. Ask others to do the same. Join groups so you know you aren’t alone, because you aren’t. Find power in the everyday…..okay I’m out of motivational things.
